First it has these beautiful pictures of two-tone designs, but then when you open it, the instructions say that you need a special brush to 'paint' in the minute details (which was not included). Kind of misleading to show these pictures on a kit, and then not include everything you need to be able to make them like that.
Then it took a few tries to get the candy to mold into the trays properly without being too runny. I was also disappointed that it seems they expect you to have the pretzel end up with candy on one side only, and the back side looks a little funky if the candy isn't super fluidy when you press the pretzel in. However, I was able to find a solution to this as well. I simply make one side, chill it, then make another on the same pretzel's back, so it now has candy all the way around. Looks much nicer in my opinion.
I had to buy regular almond bark from the locol grocery to be able to make the designs (the included candy never got fluid enough). I used ziplock bags and cut a tiny hole in the corner and just streamed it into the swirl designs. It worked for me, but it also took some tries to figure out how to get the stream to consistently go where I wanted.
So maybe these just need some practice before they'll look great, but for that you'll need more candy than what's included.
Overall, I was able to make these work for me, so it's okay that it wasn't what was expected from the description. And the designs are pretty when you get them to work. So I will be making more!
